Leonard and Sheldon are two physicists shared apartment. Both are very good at their job, but know little about life. Their lives change after the arrival of Penny, who moves into the apartment across the street. Leonard falls for her, while Sheldon, prefers to continue dating Howard Wolowitz, believed to be the flirt of the group, and Rajesh Koothrappali, who is unable to talk to women.

In the series, the four friends are represented as a complete geeks, which together with the character of Penny leads to comic situations.
