5 consoles that failed
Gizmondo
Gizmondo is a handheld game console was launched in 2004 by Tiger Telematic company in the UK and U.S.. Its worldwide release was delayed several times, and did not occur. After the bankruptcy of the company stopped development of the games that were planned. The console has better hardware than the PSP despite being released a year earlier.

Atari Jaguar
The Atari Jaguar was released in 1993. His failure was due to poor marketing by the console itself and operating at 64 bits, while the rest did so at 16 bits. The console used cartridges, but then you could add a CD.

Apple Pippin
Recently many rumors can be read to suggest that the company Apple could get their own console. But in reality it is not a new field for them as they have already launched a mid-90's, the Apple Pippin. This console had a PowerPC 603e processor at 66Mhz and a limited version of Mac OS. Failed due to its high price, since the market was already dominated by PlayStation, Nintendo64 and Sega Saturn.

Virtual Boy
In 1995 Nintendo released a new console that allowed to play video games in 3D (but monochromatic) through virtual reality glasses as those in the arcades. The console was a failure for not being portable despite being released as such and have a poor selection of games, among other factors. It was only released in the U.S. and Japan.

Sega Nomad
Sega released a portable console that used Megadrive cartridges and available color screen. It was sold in PAL territories, so that only accepts NTSC games. Available for TV output connector, so that in practice it was like having also a desktop Megadrive. One of its weakest points (which also happened to the GameGear) was high battery consumption, and that was probably one of the reasons for his failure as a handheld.
